Destin and 30A Winter Packing for a Rental Week
A Destin or 30A winter week depends on the state parks: Henderson Beach now needs a day-use reservation, and Topsail Hill’s overnight stays are still closed after Hurricane Isaias. This guide helps you choose a pin on the Destin and 30A hub, then book on the property’s own site. It does not replace the Destin and 30A first-time checklist, things to do, or rental tips.
Quick answer
Book a day-use reservation before you go to Henderson Beach State Park, which Florida State Parks says every visitor needs. As of October 29, 2026, Topsail Hill Preserve is open for day use but its overnight accommodations are closed. The three state parks here run 8 a.m. to sunset. Check FL511 before you drive. We do not invent brand packing lists, water temperatures or prices.
What to pack around the rental (not a brand list)
- Layers and a wind shell: for beach walks on cooler days
- Phone with your reservation: for the Henderson Beach day-use entry
- Walking shoes: for park trails and long beach walks
- House logistics: get the rental’s parking and pet rules in writing

From Florida State Parks (pages read October 30, 2026):

- Topsail Hill Preserve State Park (30A): as of October 29, 2026, open for day use, but all overnight accommodations are closed due to Hurricane Isaias. Open 8 a.m. to sunset; $6 per vehicle.

Check the Florida State Parks storm updates page before you go. Its October 29, 2026 notice lists Topsail Hill’s overnight accommodations as closed.

Rental filters that matter in winter
- Heat notes, and whether a pool is heated if that matters to you (confirm with the host)
- Parking for every car in the group, plus beach access notes (see Destin and 30A beach parking)
- The pet policy in writing, if a dog is coming
- Map distance to Henderson Beach, Grayton Beach or Topsail Hill
What you pack can depend on the home. If you have not booked yet, start with these Destin and 30A pages; each lists only rentals whose own listing title or website mentions that feature: Destin and 30A rentals with a pool (8), Destin and 30A rentals with a hot tub (12).
How to decide on BnB Search
- Open Destin and 30A vacation rentals and filter by bedrooms, pets and amenities, then check map distance.
- Check park notices and road conditions for your plans before you book.
- Book on the property’s own site from the listing. We do not take booking fees.
