Destin and 30A Airports and Getting to Your Vacation Rental
This guide covers two commercial airports near Destin and 30A: Destin–Fort Walton Beach Airport (VPS) and Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport (ECP) in Panama City. - Delta Air Lines (daily, by Delta or a Delta Connection carrier): Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Detroit, New York (LaGuardia) and Minneapolis.
- JetBlue: Boston and New York (JFK).
- Southwest Airlines (daily): Baltimore, Dallas (Love Field), Denver, Houston (Hobby), Kansas City, Nashville, Pittsburgh and St. Louis.
- Sun Country Airlines: Minneapolis.
Rental car counters are in the lower-level baggage claim lobby. The airport says more than 60 local shuttle companies serve the Northwest Panhandle and that their prices can change at any time, so contact them directly. Uber and Lyft use a covered pickup area a few steps from the terminal. Ask your hotel or condo whether it runs a courtesy shuttle.
Northwest Florida Beaches International (ECP)
6300 West Bay Parkway, Panama City, on Central Time. The airport says it sits 20 minutes from Panama City Beach; it does not give a time to 30A or Destin. Its airlines page lists:
- American Airlines: Charlotte, Washington, D.C. and Dallas.
- Delta Air Lines: Atlanta, New York City, Austin and Boston.
- Southwest Airlines: Austin, Baltimore, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Nashville, St. Louis, Indianapolis and Kansas City.
- United Airlines: Chicago, Houston and Denver.
The ground transportation page lists Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar/Thrifty, Enterprise, Hertz and National for rental cars, plus a long list of taxi, shuttle and limo companies with phone numbers, several of which name 30A.
