Destin Beach Parking Near Vacation Rentals
Parking at your rental is set by the property. If you drive to the beach in Destin, you will use a city, county or state park lot, or a paid beach parking area. This guide sums up the City of Destin’s own parking page and beach information page, plus the Henderson Beach State Park page, all checked on October 18, 2026. Rules change, so check those pages and the signs before you park.
Quick answer
The city lists beach parking along Scenic Highway 98 in Crystal Beach and on Gulf Shore Drive on Holiday Isle at $20 per 4 hours for visitors and residents without a pass. Henderson Beach State Park lists $6 per vehicle and says all visitors need a day-use reservation, a program it began on May 15, 2026. Beach parks and parking spaces
From the city’s beach information page:
- June White Decker Beach Park: over 70 parking spaces, showers and restrooms.
- Norriego Point Beach Park: 27 parking spaces, showers and restrooms; it overlooks the East Pass.
- Shore at Crystal Beach Park: 9 parking spaces, restrooms, showers and a covered picnic area.
- Tarpon Beach: the city’s newest beach acquisition, with covered pavilions, restrooms and showers. The page does not list a space count.
- James Lee Park: a county beach park near the Walton/Okaloosa County line with over 100 parking spaces. Call 850.689.5772.
- Henderson Beach State Park, 17000 Emerald Coast Parkway: over 300 parking spaces, per the city. The state park lists 8 a.m. to sunset, 365 days a year, $6 per vehicle and a required day-use reservation. Call 850-837-7550.
The city also lists public beach trails: Barracuda, Calhoun, Crystal Beach, O’Steen, Pompano, Shirah, Silver Shells and Tarpon. Please do not block them.
Paying, passes and fines
- Follow the payment instructions on the sign nearest your space. The city also lists 850.391.5840 to pay by phone; have your parking zone and plate number ready.
- Vehicles with properly displayed handicap identification, including Disabled Veteran tags, do not have to pay.
- The city says overnight parking is prohibited in all city lots, and violators are ticketed $100 per violation.
- Free annual passes are only for residents of incorporated Destin, two per household, from Destin City Hall or the Destin Community Center. The city’s annual passes page says these paid areas are available from 3 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Harbor District parking
For the Destin Harbor Boardwalk, the city charges a flat $15 for all-day parking at the Zerbe Street and Marler Street lots. The Destin Community Center lot is permit and pay-to-park. The city sells a Harbor District non-resident annual pass for $205.
Beach rules on the city’s page
