Things to Do Near Destin and 30A Vacation Rentals
This guide is written for families and groups on a beach week in Destin or along 30A, whether in a condo near Destin Harbor or a house in Santa Rosa Beach. It lists 6 places that fit that kind of trip when you want a break from your own stretch of sand: four state parks, a marine park and a fishing museum. Every detail comes from the operator’s or the Florida State Parks website, checked on October 16, 2026. Hours, fees and closures change, and some notices below are tied to a storm and construction, so confirm before you go. For meals, see where to eat near Destin and 30A rentals.
Quick answer
The four state parks here are open 8 a.m. to sunset every day, with vehicle fees of $4 to $6. Henderson Beach now needs a day-use reservation. Grayton Beach is open for day use, but its overnight stays are closed after Hurricane Isaias as of October 16, 2026. BnB Search is a rental directory, so the list is not ranked and shows no ratings.
Beach and dune days
Henderson Beach State Park is in Destin itself. Topsail Hill Preserve and Grayton Beach are on 30A, and both have coastal dune lakes. Check each park’s notices on the day: closures here can be sudden.
With kids
Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park and the Destin History and Fishing Museum are options away from the beach. Henderson Beach has a nature trail, but its playground is listed as temporarily closed.
Slower days
Eden Gardens State Park offers a historic house tour and gardens on Tucker Bayou in Santa Rosa Beach.
