Saugatuck, Douglas and Fennville: What the Map Filters

Quick answer

The hub has three area filters: Saugatuck, Douglas and Fennville. Saugatuck holds most of the pins. A title that says Saugatuck is not the filter: 2 of the 16 Douglas stays and 3 of the 6 Fennville stays put Saugatuck in the title. The Saugatuck and Douglas hub lists 180 places on its map, 116 of them individual stays. This page does not rank areas. Sources are linked at the end.

The 3 area filters on the map

These counts come from BnB Search's own directory data, read October 30, 2026. They change when listings are added or removed.

An area tag is a broad label. Open the map pin to see exactly where a listing is.

Saugatuck

149 pins, 94 of them stays. Hosts mention downtown in 27 of those stay titles and Lake Michigan in 8. Hosts write their own titles, so check the pin.

Oval Beach is a City of Saugatuck park at 690 Perryman St. The city's beach page says the season runs Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. A day pass is $15 and is sold at the beach only. A season pass is $75. The page says there are no lifeguards, and that dogs are not allowed from Memorial Day weekend through September 30. It adds that the parking area can fill for short periods at peak times. When that happens, the on-demand Interurban bus costs $1 for adults and children 12 and over ((269) 857-1418). Douglas

23 pins, 16 of them stays. 9 of the Douglas stay titles mention a beach, and 9 name Douglas itself.

Douglas is its own city, the City of the Village of Douglas. Its short-term rental packet defines a short-term rental as a unit rented, or advertised, for less than 31 consecutive days. The owner has to register the unit and get a rental occupancy permit, and the Fire Department inspects it at least every 36 months. If you book a Douglas stay of under 31 nights, you can ask the host whether the unit has its city rental certificate. Source: City of Douglas short-term rental packet.

Fennville

8 pins, 6 of them stays. This is the smallest filter. 3 of its stay titles mention Saugatuck, so the title alone will not tell you which town the stay is in. We did not use any Fennville city pages for this guide. Open the pin and ask the host how far the stay is from where you plan to spend the day.

How to shortlist

  1. Pick the filter on the map: Saugatuck, Douglas or Fennville.

  3. For a beach day at Oval Beach in season, plan for the $15 day pass or the Interurban bus.
  4. For a Douglas stay of under 31 nights, ask the host about the city rental certificate.
  5. Book on the site linked from the listing.
