Page Arizona First-Time Visitor Checklist
A first Page trip is an order of checks, not a ranking of areas. Page vacation rentals on BnB Search are a free directory of cabins, condos, and lake stays in Page, Lake Powell, and the mapped surroundings. Shortlist on the map, then book on the property site. The facts for renters page covers desert and lake notes. This page is the first-trip checklist. It does not replace that page, things to do, where to eat, or Sedona vs Page and Lake Powell.
Quick answer
Filter the hub badge, then read the pin. The live directory areas are Page, Lake Powell, and Surroundings. Horseshoe Bend parking is a City of Page fee; America the Beautiful and Glen Canyon passes do not cover that lot (NPS Horseshoe Bend and fees pages, read October 26, 2026). Glen Canyon National Recreation Area is open 24 hours every day on the NPS hours page. A standard private-vehicle entrance pass for Glen Canyon is $30 per week on the fees page (cashless). We do not rank a base.
Three labels, in the order you click them
- Decide whether the pin’s badge is Page, Lake Powell, or Surroundings. If it is not, you are looking at a name that is not a button.
- Do not treat the badge list as a neighborhood writeup. Read the pin for the address and the map location.
- A hub label is not a promise of marina access or a Horseshoe Bend walk. Check the listing and the map before you deposit.
- If you already know the manager or lodge, leave the area filter and open the directory lodging list below or the related company pages on the hub.
Page, Lake Powell, and Surroundings
- Page is both the hub name and a city filter. The Horseshoe Bend trailhead parking lot sits on City of Page land per NPS.
- Lake Powell is its own filter. Glen Canyon entrance stations (for example Wahweap) are where the NPS vehicle pass applies — separate from City of Page Horseshoe Bend parking.
- Surroundings is the leftover mapped bucket on this hub. It is not a town. Read the pin.
Horseshoe Bend (NPS and City of Page)
- The NPS Horseshoe Bend page places the parking lot and trailhead off US Highway 89 between mile markers 545 and 544, about 5 miles (8 km) south of the Carl Hayden Visitor Center.
- The hike to the overlook is 1.5 miles (2.4 km) round-trip on a hardened path. Pets on leash are permitted. There are railings at the overlook platform but not along the trail; NPS notes a roughly 1,000-foot drop and little shade. No water on the trail; toilets are at the parking lot.
- Jurisdictions on that page: the bend and river are in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area; the parking area and land north of the trail (partway) are in the City of Page; land south of the parking area and the trail/overlook are on the Navajo Nation.
- City of Page 2026 Consolidated Fee Schedule (Resolution 1345-26, adopted June 10, 2026): Horseshoe Bend parking — motorcycle $5; passenger vehicle (including RV) $10; commercial van/bus up to 14 passengers $35; 15–35 passengers $70; over 35 passengers $140. NPS states America the Beautiful and Glen Canyon passes do not apply to this lot.
Glen Canyon National Recreation Area entrance
- NPS hours page: the recreation area is open 24 hours every day and open all year (visitor centers and other facilities have their own hours).
- NPS fees page: private vehicle standard entrance $30 for 7 days; motorcycle $25; per person on foot or bicycle $15 (ages 16+); annual Glen Canyon pass $55. The park does not accept cash. Vessel expanded amenity fees are separate if you run a motorized boat.
- Horseshoe Bend overlook sits in the recreation area, but paying City of Page parking is not the same as a Glen Canyon entrance pass for Wahweap or other entrance stations. Read both fee pages for your plan.
What to confirm before you pay
- Which hub badge matches the pin: Page, Lake Powell, or Surroundings.
- City of Page Horseshoe Bend parking versus a Glen Canyon entrance pass for lake/marina access.
- Heat, water, and shade for the overlook hike — NPS desert safety notes on the Horseshoe Bend page.
- Navajo Nation permit rules for other tribal sites (Antelope Canyon and similar) on each tour operator’s own page — this checklist does not invent those fees.
- Airport and drive: see Page Airport and getting to Lake Powell.
Companies are not towns
A company or resort pin is not the same as an area filter. Compare managers only after you know which badge matches the stay.
How this differs from the other Page pages
Facts for renters go deeper on desert and lake notes. Things to do and restaurants are separate sourced lists. Family cabins and large-group guides help once you know the filter. This page is only the first-trip order of checks.
FAQ
Which Page area should I pick?
We do not publish an area ranking. Use Page, Lake Powell, or Surroundings to match the pin, then read the listing.
Is Lake Powell the same filter as Page?
No. Both are hub buttons.
Does an America the Beautiful pass cover Horseshoe Bend parking?
No. NPS says City of Page parking fees apply and that America the Beautiful and Glen Canyon passes do not cover that lot.
Is Surroundings a town?
No. It is the leftover mapped bucket on this hub. Read the pin.
Does BnB Search book the stay?
No. Compare on the hub, then finish on the site linked from the listing.
Hotels, resorts and lodges in our Page directory
Each of these listings has a BnB Search page that links to the property’s own website or its managing company’s site. The list is alphabetical, not ranked, and shows no ratings. This hub’s directory is mostly vacation rentals; these are the clear lodge/resort cards currently listed.
