Myrtle Beach Winter Packing for a Beach Week
A Myrtle Beach winter or shoulder week usually fails on shorter state-park hours, closed park trails, and windy pier days before it fails on packing only for July beach weather. This packing-and-rental guide helps you choose a pin on the Myrtle Beach hub, then book on the property’s own site. It does not replace the Myrtle Beach first-time checklist, weather by month, or rental tips.
Quick answer
Pack for Myrtle Beach State Park grounds open 6 a.m.–8 p.m. daily in December–February, park trails closed November through January for maintenance, and SCDOT 511 checks on Grand Strand approaches. We do not invent ocean-temperature forecasts or brand packing lists.
What to pack around the rental (not a brand list)
- Layers: pier and shoreline wind stays colder than a strip forecast high
- Park day kit: plan without the nature trails while they are closed Nov–Jan; pier and beach access still matter
- Drive-day plan: check SCDOT 511 before US-17 / US-501 runs when coastal storms are in the forecast
- House logistics: tote for supplies and kid/pet items — confirm the rental’s pet and parking notes in writing

For South Carolina approaches into the Grand Strand (including US-17 and US-501), use SCDOT 511 South Carolina before you commit to a drive day (page read October 26, 2026). Dial 511 or 1-877-511-4672 for the phone service when you need a route check without opening a map.
Rental filters that matter in winter and shoulder season
- Heat / fireplace notes for damp oceanfront nights
- Washer/dryer after sandy or rainy beach days
- Honest parking and elevator notes for mid-rise buildings
- Map distance to Myrtle Beach State Park, the pier pocket, or the neighborhood you want
- Pet policy in writing when traveling with dogs
What you pack can depend on the home. If you have not booked yet, start with these Myrtle Beach pages; each lists only rentals whose own listing title or website mentions that feature: Myrtle Beach rentals with a pool (28), Oceanfront rentals in Myrtle Beach (40), Myrtle Beach condo rentals (34), Myrtle Beach rentals with a hot tub (11).
How to decide on BnB Search
- Open Myrtle Beach vacation rentals and filter bedrooms, pets, parking, and map distance to the park or beach pocket you want.
- Confirm state-park hours, trail status, and SCDOT 511 conditions for any day-use plan before you book.
- Book on the property’s own site from the listing — we do not take booking fees.
