Myrtle Beach First-Time Visitor Checklist

A first Myrtle Beach trip is a base choice, not a ranking of beaches. Myrtle Beach vacation rentals on BnB Search are a free directory of condo and beach house rentals on South Carolina’s Grand Strand. Shortlist on the map, then book on the property site. The areas guide says which names are buttons. This page is the first-trip checklist. It does not replace that guide, the family page, or the companies page.

Quick answer

Filter the hub badge, then read the pin. The live directory areas are Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, Surfside Beach, and Murrells Inlet. “Other” is not a town. Garden City is not a button. A badge is a filing label, not a promise of oceanfront sand or a walk to the boardwalk. This page does not publish parking rules, a ferry schedule, or an event calendar. We do not rank a stretch of the strand.

Four labels the hub will filter

The areas guide calls Myrtle Beach the central filter and the name of the whole hub. The family guide says not to assume every listing is walkable to the Boardwalk. North Myrtle Beach is its own filter. The large-group guide calls it a separate beach-town base with its own rental mix. Surfside Beach is its own filter, grouped with the south strand, not with central Myrtle Beach. Murrells Inlet is its own filter. The hub note is a marsh walk: seafood row and boardwalk views over the salt marsh. That note is not a beach-tower promise.

North Myrtle Beach is not Myrtle Beach

North Myrtle Beach is not the Myrtle Beach button. The hub name is Myrtle Beach because that is the directory, not because North Myrtle shares the badge. The large-group guide already says to compare beach access, dining routes, and golf-day drives from the actual pin. Hilton Head vs Myrtle Beach already says Myrtle Beach listings commonly span oceanfront towers, North Myrtle, and inland houses. Inland is a pin fact, not a fifth filter. Thomas Beach Vacations’ public card copy points at North Myrtle Beach homes and oceanfront condos. That is a company-page note, not a reason to treat every North Myrtle pin as that brand.

Garden City is not a button

The family guide names a wider strand: Myrtle Beach proper, North Myrtle Beach, Surfside, Garden City, and nearby communities. It does not list the filter buttons. The large-group guide writes the south strand as Surfside Beach, Garden City, and toward Murrells Inlet, and says that stretch can mean a different pace, with drives for groceries, restaurants, and beach access. On the map, Surfside Beach and Murrells Inlet are separate buttons. Garden City is the name in the middle that you cannot click. A Garden City address may land under Surfside Beach, Murrells Inlet, or Other. Read the pin. Do not read the Murrells Inlet badge as a boardwalk condo. Its hub line is the marsh, not Ocean Boulevard.

Names that are not buttons

Other is the leftover bucket. It is not a town. Open the pin. Ocean Boulevard (pier approaches and an open Atlantic horizon), Myrtle Beach State Park (shaded campsite roads and a quieter stretch of sand), Brookgreen Gardens (sculpture paths and live oaks a short drive south), and Huntington Beach State Park (birding dikes, castle grounds, and long beach miles) are hub notes. They are not filters and not open-status reports. Oceanfront, ocean view, and a short drive are still listing sentences. Hilton Head, Destin, and the Outer Banks are other hubs. Use Hilton Head vs Myrtle Beach, Destin vs Myrtle Beach, or Outer Banks vs Myrtle Beach when the other coast is still in play. The Outer Banks page already points at the Outer Banks beach house checklist. That checklist is not this hub.

What to confirm before you pay

Companies are not towns

If you already know the manager, use the companies guide. It names four live directory cards: Elliott Beach Rentals, Thomas Beach Vacations, Casago Myrtle Beach Vacations, and Dunes Realty Vacation Rentals. Follow a booking link only when that card already has one. Confirm on Maps when no site is linked. This checklist does not add a domain, a fifth brand, or a ranking of those four.

How this differs from the other Myrtle Beach pages

The areas guide is the filter map. The family page names the wider Grand Strand and tells you not to assume a Boardwalk walk. It does not list the four buttons or separate Garden City from Surfside and Murrells Inlet. Hilton Head vs Myrtle Beach, Destin vs Myrtle Beach, and Outer Banks vs Myrtle Beach are peer compares, not a first-trip checklist. This page only says what to click and what not to assume.

FAQ

Which Myrtle Beach area should I pick?

We do not publish an area ranking. Use the filter that matches the sand access and the drive you already want.

Is North Myrtle Beach the same filter as Myrtle Beach?

No. Both are hub buttons.

Is Garden City on the map as its own area?

No. The family guide and the large-group guide already name it. The filters next to that stretch are Surfside Beach and Murrells Inlet. Check the pin.

Does a hub note mean the pier or the state park is open?

No. Ocean Boulevard, Myrtle Beach State Park, Brookgreen Gardens, and Huntington Beach State Park are directory notes, not open-status reports.

Does BnB Search book the stay?

No. Compare on the hub, then finish on the site linked from the listing.

Hotels, resorts and lodges in our Myrtle Beach directory

Each of these listings has a BnB Search page that links to the property’s own website or its managing company’s site. The list is alphabetical, not ranked, and shows no ratings.
