Telluride Holiday Season 2026: Thanksgiving to New Year’s
Telluride’s holiday season has two centers: the town of Telluride and Mountain Village, linked by the free gondola. The 2026 holiday calendar

- Christmas Eve and Christmas Day: Thursday, December 24, and Friday, December 25, 2026.
- New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day: Thursday, December 31, 2026, and Friday, January 1, 2027.

Opening day on Thanksgiving
Telluride Ski Resort’s ski page lists a targeted opening day of November 26, 2026, and a closing day of April 4, 2027. It says the dates can change with weather and conditions. Visit Telluride’s opening day page lists the same date. If you book Thanksgiving week for skiing, check how much terrain is open before you pay for lift tickets.
- Limited pass blackout dates: the same ski page lists December 26–31 and January 1–2 as restricted dates for the Limited Season Pass.
Noel Night (December 9)
Visit Telluride’s Noel Night page lists Wednesday, December 9, 2026. It marks the start of the holiday season downtown with the lighting of the ceremonial Ski Tree, and shops offer holiday discounts. Telluride Arts’ Art Walk page lists a Noel Night Art Walk from 5 to 7 p.m. that evening, with galleries open.
Mountain Village Holiday Prelude (December 12–13)
Visit Telluride’s Holiday Prelude page says Mountain Village will be turned into the North Pole on Saturday, December 12, and Sunday, December 13, 2026. The page says to stay tuned for updates, so we do not list a schedule here.
New Year’s Eve torchlight parade and fireworks
Visit Telluride’s New Year’s Eve page lists December 31, 2026. Ski and snowboard school instructors come down the mountain with torches at 6:30 p.m. Fireworks start shortly after, and the page says they are best seen from the Mountain Village core.
