Sedona Facts for Rental Guests

Much of the red rock country around Sedona is in the Coconino National Forest's Red Rock Ranger District, which the U.S. Forest Service says covers 487,519 acres. Some Forest Service sites need a parking pass. On BnB Search, the Sedona vacation rentals hub lists 269 places, 209 of them individual stays. Sources are linked at the end.
The forest around Sedona (USFS)
- Red Rock Ranger District: 487,519 acres of the Coconino National Forest around Sedona.
- Forest districts: the Coconino National Forest has three: Flagstaff, Mogollon Rim and Red Rock.
Why this matters for renters: popular trailheads near your rental may be Forest Service fee sites, so a parking pass may be needed even for a short hike.
Red Rock Pass
The Forest Service says that if you leave your vehicle at a Sedona-area fee site, you must display a Red Rock Pass or a federal recreation pass such as America the Beautiful. The Red Rock Pass only works on Coconino National Forest sites. It is not valid at national parks, Arizona state parks or the concessionaire-run sites that use a separate pass. See the Red Rock and Coconino passes page for the current site list and fees.
