This guide lists 11 Smoky Mountains cabins whose own websites say they are pet-friendly, then covers the National Park Service rules for dogs in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The park service says most trails and many areas of the park are off-limits to pets, so it helps to know the rules before you go.

11 cabins whose own sites say they are pet-friendly

Each cabin below is tagged pet-friendly in our directory, and its manager’s page said so when we checked on October 22, 2026. Each line names the page we checked and repeats its pet rule in short; the other features listed are ones the same page mentions. They are grouped by our area tag, not ranked, and show no ratings or prices. Pet fees, size limits and the number of pets allowed vary, so confirm the policy with the host before you book. Gatlinburg

Creekside Ponderosa. We checked its manager’s page (diamondrentals.com), which lists it as pet friendly with a per-pet fee and says a large crate is provided. It also mentions fireplace, deck, grill and kitchen.
Water's View. We checked its manager’s page (firesidechalets.com), which says dogs under 35 lbs are welcome and additional fees apply. It also mentions hot tub, fire pit, fireplace, king bed, deck and grill.

Pigeon Forge

All About The View. We checked its manager’s page (mountaintimecabinrentals.com), which says it is pet-friendly with a per-pet fee, and pets must be flea-treated and kept off furniture. It also mentions hot tub, game room, pool table, fire pit, fireplace and king bed.
Enchanted. We checked its manager’s page (smcrentals.com), which says small dogs are welcome, up to two, with a per-pet fee. It also mentions hot tub, pool table, fireplace, balcony, deck and grill.

Wears Valley

Gettin' Cozy. We checked its manager’s page (greatcabinsinthesmokies.com), which says it is pet friendly for dogs only, up to two, with a non-refundable pet fee and gated decks. It also mentions hot tub, fire pit, fireplace, deck, grill and kitchen.
Tree Top 14. We checked its manager’s page (maplesridge.com), which says non-shedding dogs are welcome with an additional pet fee. It also mentions hot tub, game room, pool table, fire pit, fireplace and king bed.

Smoky Mountains area (no town tag)

Bear Bottoms. We checked its manager’s page (auntiebelhams.com), which says the home welcomes dogs, registered and paid for when you book. It also mentions hot tub, fireplace, king bed, grill, washer and dryer.
Dove's Nest. We checked its manager’s page (parksidecabinrentals.com), which lists Pet Friendly among its amenities. It also mentions fireplace, king bed, deck, grill, washer and dryer.
Dreamcatcher. We checked its manager’s page (auntiebelhams.com), which says the home welcomes dogs, registered and paid for when you book. It also mentions hot tub, game room, pool table, fireplace, king bed and deck.
Grandma's Gift. We checked its manager’s page (smcrentals.com), which says small dogs are welcome, up to two, with a per-pet fee. It also mentions hot tub, pool table, fireplace, king bed, balcony and deck.
Strawberry Fields. We checked its manager’s page (bearcampcabins.com), which says it is pet-friendly with a per-pet fee; pets must weigh 40 pounds or less and be crated if left alone. It also mentions fireplace, grill, washer, dryer, dishwasher and kitchen.

Questions to ask the host

What is the pet fee, and is it per pet or per stay?
Are there size, breed or number limits?
Is any of the yard fenced, and are pets allowed on the furniture or in the hot tub area?

Dogs in the national park

The National Park Service says pets are allowed in frontcountry campgrounds, picnic areas and along roads on a leash no longer than 6 feet, and that only two trails allow leashed pets: the Gatlinburg Trail and the Oconaluftee River Trail (NPS pets page, checked October 16, 2026).

More National Park Service rules and tips for dogs

Clean up after your pet, and never leave it unattended in a vehicle or RV.
Dogs have not been allowed in the park’s backcountry since the park was established in the 1930s.
In bear country, the park suggests carrying bear spray, staying alert, and never letting your dog bark at, chase or corner a bear. It says dogs are involved in most bear-related incidents with people.
Service animals may go anywhere visitors can go. Emotional support, therapy and companion animals are not service animals and follow the pet rules.
For hiking with your dog, the park points to nearby public lands that may allow it, including the Cherokee, Pisgah, Nantahala and Chattahoochee national forests and Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area. Check each one’s rules before you go.

Proximity to trails — the Gatlinburg Trail and Oconaluftee River Trail are the only national park trails that allow leashed dogs (NPS)

Yard space and fencing vary, so ask the host. The two park trails that allow leashed dogs are the Gatlinburg Trail and the Oconaluftee River Trail.
