Key West Beach Parking Near Vacation Rentals

Parking at your rental is set by the property. If you drive to the beach, this guide sums up the City of Key West’s Smathers Beach page and Parking Department page, and the Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park fees page, all checked on October 18, 2026.

Quick answer

Smathers Beach parking is $5 an hour, charged Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to midnight and Sunday from noon to midnight, with no overnight parking. Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park charges $6 per vehicle plus a Monroe County surcharge of 50 cents per person. BnB Search is a rental directory, so nothing here is ranked or rated.

Smathers Beach

The city calls Smathers Beach, on South Roosevelt Boulevard, the largest public beach in Key West, about half a mile long. Beach hours are sunrise to sunset, and restrooms are open from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. It lists beach volleyball nets, restrooms and showers.

Paying and citations

The Parking Department points drivers to the Passport Parking app. It says violations must be paid within ten calendar days or a $5 late charge is added, another $5 after 20 days, and tickets go to a collection agency after 30 days.

Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park

Florida State Parks lists the park as open from 8 a.m. until sundown, 365 days a year; the fort closes at 5 p.m. Admission is $6 per vehicle (up to eight people) plus a 50-cent Monroe County surcharge per person, $4.50 for a single-occupant vehicle or motorcycle, and $2.50 for pedestrians, bicyclists and extra passengers.

Not covered yet

The city says it has four beaches. This guide covers Smathers Beach only, plus the state park. It does not cover Higgs Beach, the other city beaches, private lots or hotel parking, because we did not check their own pages for this guide.
