Hilton Head Beach Parking Near Vacation Rentals
Parking and beach access at your rental are set by the property or its community. If you drive to one of the town’s public beach parks, these rules apply. This guide sums up the Town of Hilton Head Island’s own beach parking page, checked on October 18, 2026. Rules change, so check the town page and the signs before you park.
Quick answer
The town says visitors pay to park at every town beach park except Coligny Beach Park during the peak season of March 1 through September 7. Fees are $3 an hour Monday to Friday and $5 an hour on Saturdays and Sundays, enforced 7 am to 5 pm, and you pay through a phone app; cash is not accepted. Beach parks are open daily from 6 am to 10 pm. BnB Search is a rental directory, so nothing here is ranked or rated.
Late fall and winter
The town’s page lists fees and enforcement only for March 1 through September 7. It does not list fees outside those dates, but signs at the lot are the final word.
Beach parks and parking
Space counts are from the town’s page. Residents with a town beach parking permit park free at all of them.

Exemptions, fines and towing
- Vehicles with registered handicap placards or plates park free in spaces reserved for handicapped individuals, per South Carolina law, the town says.
- Vehicles with disabled veteran or Purple Heart plates are exempt from municipal parking meter fees. The town says some military plates also get free metered parking, but not those issued before May 6, 2022.
- Citations and fines range from $50 to $500. Any vehicle not in a designated space can be towed at the owner’s expense.
Getting there without a car
The town lists the fare-free Breeze Trolley, running 7 days a week from 1 pm to 10 pm, and until 11 pm on Fridays and Saturdays, from early April through Labor Day. The Coligny shuttle dates on the parking page were for 2025 when we checked, so look at the town’s Coligny Beach Parking Shuttle page for the current season.
Not covered yet
This guide does not cover beach access inside gated communities or resorts, which is set by each community. Ask your host what passes or gate rules apply to your rental.
