Hilton Head Airports and Getting to Your Vacation Rental
This guide covers two airports for Hilton Head Island: Hilton Head Island Airport (HHH) on the island, and Savannah/Hilton Head International (SAV) in Savannah, Georgia. This guide sums up the Hilton Head Island Airport airlines page, ground transportation page and about page, and Savannah’s nonstop destinations page and ground transportation page, all checked on October 18, 2026. Airline routes change and some are seasonal, so treat these lists as a starting point and confirm on the airline’s site before you book.
Quick answer
HHH is on the island at 120 Beach City Road and is served by American, Delta and United. SAV, at 400 Airways Avenue in Savannah, lists more nonstop cities, many of them seasonal, but it is off the island, so you will need a car or a ride. HHH says most arriving passengers have pre-arranged rental cars or take a taxi, and that hotels and villas on the island usually do not offer shuttle service. BnB Search is a rental directory, so nothing here is ranked or rated.
Hilton Head Island Airport (HHH)
Owned and operated by Beaufort County since 1967, (843) 255-2950. The airport says it has year-round and seasonal airline service. Its airlines page lists these destinations:
- American Airlines: Charlotte, Philadelphia, Chicago, Washington and Boston.
- Delta Air Lines: Atlanta and LaGuardia.
- United Airlines: Chicago, Newark and Washington.
The page does not say which routes are seasonal, so check with the airline.
- Taxis: licensed taxis wait at the taxi stand, to the right as you leave the building, for each scheduled airline arrival. The airport lists Ferguson Transportation, (843) 842-8088; Apple Transportation, (843) 715-3504; and Native Islander’s Transportation, (843) 384-1403.
- Rental cars: counters are inside the terminal.
- Uber and Lyft: pickup is in the ground transportation area directly outside the terminal exit. The airport says rideshare runs 24/7 based on driver availability, and suggests requesting your ride after you collect your bags.
- Bags: the airport tells people picking up passengers that baggage claim can take 15 to 30 minutes after landing.
Savannah/Hilton Head International (SAV)
Run by the Savannah Airport Commission. Its nonstop destinations page lists 32 cities: Akron/Canton, Appleton, Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Cincinnati, Columbus, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Fort Lauderdale, Hartford, Houston, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Louisville, Miami, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Nashville, New Haven, New Orleans, New York, Newark, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Providence, St. Louis, Washington, D.C., Westchester. Many are marked seasonal, and the page says to see the airline for current schedules. Rental car counters are in baggage claim, and the airport says all rental car and return lots are covered and next to the main terminal. Its ground transportation page also has sections for rideshare, taxis, limos and sedans, and pre-arranged ADA and medical transport.
The Savannah airport pages we read do not give a drive time to Hilton Head Island, so plan the drive with your map app.
Tips

- If you land at HHH without a rental car, book a taxi or line up a rideshare; the airport says island hotels and villas usually do not run shuttles.
- Ask your host how many cars the rental allows before you book a rental car.
