Gulf Shores vs Myrtle Beach: Which Beach Map Fits the Trip?
Gulf Shores and Myrtle Beach are both beach directories on BnB Search. They are not the same map. Gulf Shores and Orange Beach rentals are the Alabama Gulf hub. Myrtle Beach rentals are the Grand Strand hub in South Carolina. This page helps you pick a hub, then book on the property site. It is not a beach ranking. It is also not Destin vs Gulf Shores, Destin vs Myrtle Beach, Hilton Head vs Myrtle Beach, or Outer Banks vs Myrtle Beach.
Quick answer
Open the hub whose badges you can already name. Use Gulf Shores when the pin should say Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Fort Morgan, or Foley. Use Myrtle Beach when the pin should say Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, Surfside Beach, or Murrells Inlet. Garden City is not a Myrtle button. “Other” is not a town on either hub. This page does not publish a drive time, parking rules, a ferry schedule, or an event calendar. We do not rank a beach.
Gulf Shores badges
The live Gulf Shores filters are Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Fort Morgan, and Foley. Each is its own button. The Gulf Shores areas guide already says a badge is a filing label, not a promise of gulf-front sand. The Gulf Shores first-time checklist is the order of checks. This page does not repeat it as a new town guide.
Gulf Shores is the button in the hub name. The family guide already calls that filter central for Highway 59 access and Gulf Place / public beach energy, with a mix of condos and houses. Gulf State Park trails are a hub note (boardwalks, pines, and bike paths just inland). That note is not a button and not an open-status report.
Orange Beach is not the Gulf Shores button. The family guide places it east along Perdido Beach Blvd, with condo towers and marina energy. The hub names an Orange Beach marina note: charter boats and a waterfront stroll. Perdido Pass (bridge overlooks where the Gulf meets the Intracoastal) is a hub note, not a rental-area badge. The Fort Morgan compare already says beach access varies by building. This page does not add parking rules.
Fort Morgan is the west-end filter. The family guide calls it the quieter western tip, more residential, and says to confirm grocery and restaurant distance. The large-group guide says it can trade convenience for a more spread-out base. Bon Secour wildlife refuge is a hub note for that side, not a promise that every Fort Morgan pin is next to a trail. Fort Morgan vs Orange Beach is the two-button page inside this hub. Foley is the fourth button. The family neighborhoods section skips Foley. The hub evening note is “Foley & The Wharf” (Ferris-wheel lights and a slow waterfront promenade). That is not a gulf-front beach and not a second name for Gulf Shores. If the pin is inland, do not read the Foley badge as Orange Beach sand. Read the pin.
Myrtle Beach badges
The live Myrtle Beach filters are Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, Surfside Beach, and Murrells Inlet. Each is its own button. The Myrtle Beach areas guide already says a badge is not a promise of oceanfront sand or a walk to the boardwalk. The Myrtle Beach first-time checklist is the order of checks on that hub.
Myrtle Beach is both the central filter and the hub name. Use that filter when the listing should sit in Myrtle Beach, not North Myrtle Beach and not the south strand. The family guide says not to assume every listing is walkable to the Boardwalk. Ocean Boulevard and Myrtle Beach State Park are hub notes, not extra buttons and not an open-status report.
North Myrtle Beach is not the Myrtle Beach button. The large-group guide calls it a separate beach-town base with its own rental mix. A company card that points at North Myrtle Beach is one card, not a claim that every North Myrtle pin uses that manager. Inland is a pin fact, not a fifth filter.
Surfside Beach and Murrells Inlet are two buttons. The large-group guide writes the south strand as Surfside Beach, Garden City, and toward Murrells Inlet. On the map, only Surfside Beach and Murrells Inlet are buttons. Murrells Inlet’s hub line is a marsh walk: seafood row and boardwalk views over the salt marsh. That note is not a beach-tower promise. Brookgreen Gardens and Huntington Beach State Park are hub notes south of the central strand. They are not rental-area badges.
Names that are not buttons
Other is the leftover bucket on both hubs. It is not a town. Garden City is named in the Myrtle family guide and the large-group guide. It is still not a filter. A Garden City address may land under Surfside Beach, Murrells Inlet, or Other. Read the pin. There is no Garden City button.
On the Gulf hub, Gulf State Park, Bon Secour, Perdido Pass, The Wharf, Perdido Beach Blvd, and Highway 59 are notes or roads, not area badges. On the Myrtle hub, Ocean Boulevard, Myrtle Beach State Park, Brookgreen, and Huntington Beach State Park are notes, not buttons. Destin and 30A, Hilton Head, and the Outer Banks are other hubs. Use those compares when the other coast is still in play. This page does not add a drive time between the Alabama Gulf and the Grand Strand.
What this page does not decide
- It does not pick a beach. Use the filter that matches the name on the pin.
- A Gulf badge is not a promise of gulf-front sand. A Myrtle badge is not a promise of a Boardwalk walk. Read the pin.
- Fort Morgan’s “quieter western tip” line is already in the family guide. It is not a ranking against Myrtle Beach.
- The first-time checklists already say they do not add parking rules or a ferry schedule. This compare does not add them either.
- Book on the site linked from the listing. If a card has no booking link, do not invent one.
Companies are not the map
If you already know the manager, leave this compare. Gulf Shores vacation rental companies features two live cards: Poole & Associates and the Maps listing named Sandy. That guide does not rename Sandy to “Sandy Shores Apartments.” Myrtle Beach vacation rental companies names Elliott Beach Rentals, Thomas Beach Vacations, Casago Myrtle Beach Vacations, and Dunes Realty Vacation Rentals. Thomas Beach Vacations’ public card copy points at North Myrtle Beach homes and oceanfront condos. That is one card, not every North Myrtle pin. A Gulf company is not a Myrtle company. This page does not add a domain or a ranking of those cards.
How this differs from the other compares
Destin vs Gulf Shores is the Florida Panhandle hub versus this Alabama map. Destin vs Myrtle Beach, Hilton Head vs Myrtle Beach, and Outer Banks vs Myrtle Beach keep Myrtle as one side and a different East Coast or Panhandle hub as the other. Fort Morgan vs Orange Beach stays inside the Gulf hub. Use this page when the choice is which of these two beach directories to open.
