Lake Tahoe Beach Parking Near Vacation Rentals
Parking at your rental is set by the property. If you drive to a public beach at Lake Tahoe, expect a fee and, at some beaches in summer, a reservation. This guide sums up the Sand Harbor page and Sand Harbor reservations FAQ from Nevada State Parks, and the U.S. Forest Service pages for Lake Tahoe beaches, Pope Beach and Baldwin Beach, all checked on October 18, 2026.
Quick answer
Sand Harbor charges $10 per Nevada vehicle and $15 for other vehicles, and requires a day-use reservation for entry before 10:30 a.m. from May 15 through September 30. Pope Beach and Baldwin Beach on the South Shore charge $10 per vehicle per day in season. The Forest Service says its beach parking runs from Memorial Day through mid-October, and the beaches stay open to walk-ins when the lots close. BnB Search is a rental directory, so nothing here is ranked or rated.
Sand Harbor (Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park)
- Where: 2005 Highway 28, Incline Village, NV. 775-831-0494.
- Hours: 8 a.m. to 1 hour after sunset.
- Entrance fee: $10 for Nevada vehicles, $15 for non-Nevada vehicles.
- Reservations: the park page says day-use reservations are required for vehicle entry daily from May 15 through September 30. The FAQ says they apply from opening to 10:30 a.m., and after that entry is first come, first served until the park is full. One FAQ answer gives May 1 as the start, so check before a May visit.
- Booking: on ReserveNevada.com only, not at the park. A nonrefundable $5 fee is charged on top of the entry fee, except on same-day reservations, which can be made until 10:29 a.m.
- Drop-offs and Highway 28: drop-offs are prohibited, and parking or being dropped off on Highway 28 outside designated parking is not allowed.
- Boat ramp: the park page listed it as closed for the season when we checked. The ramp is first come, first served, with no reservation.
Forest Service beaches
The Forest Service says most National Forest beaches and picnic areas charge a parking fee per vehicle, with lots open 8 a.m. until sunset from Memorial Day through mid-October, conditions permitting. When the lots are closed, you can still walk in, but restrooms and trash service are not available. Season passes are sold at the Baldwin Beach, Fallen Leaf Campground, Nevada Beach Campground and Pope Beach kiosks.
- Pope Beach, South Shore, off Highway 89 about three miles from South Lake Tahoe: $10 per vehicle per day; season May to October; day use only; no pets.
- Baldwin Beach, on Highway 89 across from Mt. Tallac Road: $10 per vehicle per day; season mid-May to mid-October; day use only; no pets. It is run by Tahoe Recreation under a Forest Service permit.
Not covered yet
This guide does not cover California State Parks beaches such as Emerald Bay and D.L. Bliss, City of South Lake Tahoe beaches, or the Tahoe City and North Tahoe utility district beaches, because we did not check their own pages for this guide.
Tips
- Fees were checked on October 18, 2026. Mid-October is the end of the Forest Service parking season, so lots may already be closed.
- For a summer visit to Sand Harbor, book the reservation ahead. Nevada State Parks warns that cell service near the park is unreliable.
- When you compare rentals, check whether the property has lake access of its own.
