Lake Norman’s holiday events are spread across the lake towns: Cornelius, Davidson and Mooresville each run their own. The Town of Cornelius’s Light Up Cornelius page lists Saturday, November 28, from 4 to 7 p.m. in Downtown Cornelius. It is the town’s tree lighting, with community performances, children’s activities, sledding, a model train display, food and drink and a visit from Santa, who arrives at 4:30 p.m. It is free.

Christmas in Davidson (December 3 to 5)

The Town of Davidson’s Christmas in Davidson page lists Thursday to Saturday, December 3 to 5, 2026, from 6 to 9 p.m. each night. The opening ceremony is Thursday at 6 p.m., with Santa’s arrival and the tree lighting on the Town Green. The town lists a holiday light show, roving entertainment, live nativity scenes, an artisan village and a children’s craft area.

North Mecklenburg Holiday Parade (December 5)

Davidson’s parade page lists the 44th annual parade on Saturday, December 5, 2026, at 1 p.m. This year it follows a shorter alternate route of a little under a mile because of NCDOT construction on Highway 115, and the town says route details will be posted. The Merry Main Street Tricycle Race follows on Main Street in front of the Town Green. Expect road closures around downtown that afternoon.

A Classic Christmas in Mooresville (December 11)

Mooresville Arts & Events’ A Classic Christmas page lists Friday, December 11, 2026, from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. in Downtown Mooresville, with ice skating, horse-drawn wagon rides, Santa visits, a carousel, train rides, local artisans and live entertainment.
