Door County Areas: What the Map Actually Filters

The Door County hub is vacation rentals, cabins, and cottages on the peninsula. This page is the area guide. It is not a best-area ranking. The family cabins guide and the large-group guide already talk through Sturgeon Bay, Egg Harbor, Fish Creek, Ephraim, and Sister Bay. They do not list the filter buttons. A slash on a button is one badge, not two. Shortlist on the map, then book on the property site.

Quick answer

Filter the hub badge first, then read the pin. The live directory areas are Sister Bay / Ellison Bay, Fish Creek / Ephraim, Sturgeon Bay, Baileys Harbor, and Egg Harbor, plus an “Other” bucket that is not a town. Sister Bay / Ellison Bay is one button. Fish Creek / Ephraim is one button. Baileys Harbor is a button the planning posts do not name. Washington Island is a ferry note, not a filter. We do not rank a best Door County base.

Five labels the hub will filter

Sturgeon Bay

Use the Sturgeon Bay filter when the badge says Sturgeon Bay, not Egg Harbor, Fish Creek / Ephraim, Sister Bay / Ellison Bay, or Baileys Harbor. The family guide already says a grocery stop is often easier near Sturgeon Bay before you commit farther north. The pet guide pairs it with southern-peninsula pins. Those posts are not a claim that every Sturgeon Bay card is closer to a store. The pin decides.

Egg Harbor

Egg Harbor is not the Sturgeon Bay button and not the Fish Creek / Ephraim button. The large-group guide already says it can sit between northern towns and Sturgeon Bay. The family guide calls it a central compromise and tells you to verify driveway and parking language. That is the existing writeup. This page does not add a village description.

Fish Creek / Ephraim and Sister Bay / Ellison Bay

The family guide gives Fish Creek its own line for Peninsula State Park, harbor walks, and denser evenings, and it pairs Ephraim with Sister Bay for north-shore scenery. The hub still stores Fish Creek and Ephraim on one button, and Sister Bay and Ellison Bay on another. If a card says Fish Creek / Ephraim, filtering only “Fish Creek” is not an option. The companies post already says its four featured cards are labeled Sister Bay / Ellison Bay, and that the label is the directory pin, not a promise the company only serves that town.

Baileys Harbor

Baileys Harbor is easy to miss because the cottage, family, and large-group guides never section it. It is a live hub button. Existing posts do not name it. Read the pin. Do not borrow an Egg Harbor or Sister Bay description for this badge.

That guide names Door County Property Management, DoCo Vacations, Lundquist Realty & Vacation Rentals of Door County, LLC, and Northern Door Vacations, LLC as live directory cards. The companies post already says those featured cards are labeled Sister Bay / Ellison Bay. Similar wording does not make them one business. Follow a booking link only when that card already has one. This areas page does not add a domain or a fifth brand, and it does not rank those four.
