Where to Eat Near Big Bear Lake Vacation Rentals
A typical Big Bear trip is a cabin weekend for a couple or a family: breakfast out before the slopes or the trail, a slow day at the cabin or on the lake, and a dinner or two somewhere warm. This guide lists seven restaurants that suit that pattern. Every detail below comes from the restaurant’s own website or a cited listing, checked on October 14, 2026. Hours change by season, so confirm before you go. If you are still choosing where to stay, start with Big Bear neighborhoods: Village, Moonridge and Fawnskin. Families can also use Big Bear family cabins.
Quick answer
Four of the seven are in or beside the Village: Teddy Bear Restaurant, Oakside Restaurant and Bar, Peppercorn Grille and The Pines Lakefront on the lakefront. Captain’s Anchorage is on Moonridge Way. Grizzly Manor Cafe and Red Baron Pizza and Sports Bar are on Big Bear Blvd. BnB Search is a rental directory, not a restaurant critic, so this list is not ranked and shows no ratings.
Where to eat near each rental area
Our Big Bear hub groups rentals into Big Bear Lake (which includes the Village), Moonridge and Fawnskin. Use the area filter on the map or the Big Bear directory to see which rentals are close to these addresses.
- The Village (Big Bear Lake): Teddy Bear Restaurant, Oakside Restaurant and Bar, Peppercorn Grille and, on Alden Rd by the lake, The Pines Lakefront.
- Moonridge: Captain’s Anchorage on Moonridge Way.
- Big Bear Blvd: Grizzly Manor Cafe and Red Baron Pizza and Sports Bar. Check the map for the drive from your rental.
- Fawnskin (north shore): we could not confirm a Fawnskin restaurant’s current hours from its own website, so none is listed. Plan to drive to the Village for meals out.
Breakfast before the slopes
Grizzly Manor Cafe opens at 6 AM daily and Teddy Bear Restaurant at 7 AM daily, according to their sites. Either works before a ski or snow-play day. On busy weekends, cooking breakfast at the cabin and eating out once can save time in lines.
Cozy dinner picks for couples
Captain’s Anchorage has a rustic cabin dining room with red leather booths and a full bar. The Pines Lakefront pairs dinner with a lake view. Peppercorn Grille is a small dining room that only takes reservations for four or fewer. Book ahead on holiday and ski weekends.
Family-friendly spots
Oakside Restaurant and Bar describes itself as family friendly. Red Baron Pizza and Sports Bar has a game room and delivers across the valley. Teddy Bear Restaurant serves all three meals. For groups of five or more, call ahead: Captain’s Anchorage asks larger parties to phone, and Peppercorn Grille seats parties of four or fewer.
